Govt’s innovative policies paving the way

IN his National Address for the 41st Independence Flag Raising ceremony- Prime Minister Peter O’Neill has reminded the country of the benefits of the National Government and its innovative policies that have put a impacted the country’s service delivery systems.

Mr O’Neill said many of the programs are costly, but are being delivered in the shortest possible time to every person in our country.

He made reference to the government’s free education, free healthcare, focus in Small to Medium Enterprises, and other key sectors as prerequisites to creates opportunities for the new generation Papua New Guinean.

“We must continue to work hard with a generation of Papua New Guineans who now growing up with better opportunities than many in the past,” Mr O’Neill said.

“We must continue to raise living standards, broaden our economy for the benefit of all Papua New Guineans.”

“We are today helping many of our people get into businesses through of course many of the innovative policies that our government is now able to do and establish.”

He also made mention of the government’s home ownership financing program with Bank South Pacific.

“We are continuing to help our own citizens to own their own homes for the first time in many generations.”

“This is because government is now continuing to provide affordable financing right across many sectors throughout the country.”

“We must continue to have innovative programs that must have positive impact to our citizens to our communities throughout the country.”

He said priorities include development of the country’s tremendous potential in tourism and agriculture, with investments in technologies we have to have a greater impact economically like – communications, power generation, expanding constructions right throughout the country.
