LEADER of the opposition, Don Polye, has expressed his dismay at the revelations made through Post Courier newspaper on Friday on the summoning of two departmental heads over the lack of funds to conclude the case for the Rabaul Queen ship disaster of 2012 that cost almost 200 hundred lives.

Mr Polye said that all Papua New Guineans should be angry at the situation the investigation is being faced with, which gives a clear indication that the government does not care if lives are lost is the manner that occurred on February 2, 2012.

“That is a very embarrassing it sickens, it make me very angry. Not only me it should be a concern to every Papua New Guinean,” Polye said.

“Especially those that lost loved ones on that boat who perished at sea- the common Papua New Guinean, the transport users, all of us 8 million people they should be angry.”

“We must get angry at the lives of Papua New Guineans lost and the government of the day has not even any interest, any concern to even at least to into the capsize. Why spend so much money building all these monuments in this city.”

He said with the orders made for both departmental heads from Finance and Justice were sound to bring those that neglected the safety of citizens on the dreadful voyage.

“The government lax attitude will lead only to one thing which is those law breakers will continue to break the law, let alone future lives lost, let alone.”

“So the shipping industry will not be properly regulated and will unsafe and not secure and yet operators will continue to carry on the illegal transportation in our waters.”

“Those who are supposed to be providing money should be ashamed, they should be guilty, they are not human and they are not Papua New Guinean with no common sense and conscience,” an angry Polye said.
