Samsung launches Galaxy S7 mobile

RENOWNED mobile manufacturer Samsung Electronics has launched its latest addition to its Samsung Galaxy range of smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy 7 (S7) in Port Moresby during the week.

In partnership with Digicel PNG, the manufacturer featured two its S7 range from the Galaxy S7 and the S& Edge.

Representative from Samsung New Zealand, introduced the products to the media with their various top of the line features for their latest installment in the Galaxy evolution.

“We are excited to be here with our partners Digicel for the S7 and S7 Edge. Last year was a fundamental year for Samsung as we had the success of the S5 with its plastic body, but last year we have moved back to a metal and glass body design with the S6 and we have brought some new standout feature for the S7,” Brad Pritchard from Samsung said.

The S6 premium metal design had been bulked on with the new S7 which has got a 5.1 inch display to the S7 Edge which has got a 5.5 inch display.

Due to customer requests, Samsung has also returned to customers’ expandable storage.

It also an added feature of water resistance which enables the phone to under water for up to 30 minutes for a depth of 1.5meters for wet conditions.

Digicel PNG CEO, Maurice McCarthy, said Samsung’s new smartphone technology is a leader in its field.

“Samsung is renowned for its innovative smartphone technology and as PNG’s leading telecommunications provider, Digicel is thrilled to not only offer the latest in mobile phone technology to the market but a unique mobile experience,” he said.

“The Galaxy S7 and S7 edge are our most complete smartphones to date,” said Head of Samsung New Zealand’s Mobile Business, Stefan Lecchi.

“More than just a beautifully designed device, our new flagship Galaxy smartphones offers improved functionality, a more robust design and advanced camera technology.”

“We think the consumers in PNG will appreciate a smartphone durable enough to take them from the office to the beach, but still offering the sleek and streamlined glass and metal design now synonymous with our flagship Galaxy series.”

Samsung’s two new additions also include the first Dual Pixel camera on a smartphone, which helps deliver brighter and sharper images. The powerful processer and bigger battery capacity ensure longer playing time, and the internal cooling system keeps the device from overheating.

The S7 is available at all Digicel and FoneHaus stores.
