Mobil Waigani set to close for refurbishment

ONE of Lifu Holding’s busiest Mobil fuel service station at Waigani in Port Moresby is set to close for three months to undergo refurbishment.

According to Retail Site Manager for the 5 Mile service station, along Boroko Drive, Toinesa Durisi- all five Mobil station under Lifu Holdings will undergo similar refurbishment construction with the latest fuel pumps in the country.

Last week Saturday saw the reopening of the busiest service station in the capital, the 5 Mile Service station since undergoing refurbishment since last year.

“We have finished the refurbishment of Lahara and this is the second one,” Durisi said.

“After this will be Waigani to be closed within this month, and after Waigani we will be doing the last two at Ela Beach and Islander (next to Holiday Inn hotel).”

Mobil service stations under Lifu Holdings are Waigani, Islander, 5 Mile, Lahara, and the Ela Beach service station.

“It has been a long while since we have been closed (5 Mile) and I want to ensure that the message goes out to customers and we want to let them know that we are open with all the new pumps that are available to give a faster service,” he added.

“We have got the existing staff plus new recruits to give a better service. Our fuel pumps are the latest in the country at the moment Mobil has brought.”

Once tagged the biggest volume selling station in the Pacific Region- Durisi added that Lifu and Mobil were taking improving their efficiency to meet the demand of motorists and the business community in the city.

“In terms of volume sales, some years ago it was one of the leading service stations in the Pacific. Selling much more volume of fuel than any other service station in the Pacific.”

“In volume we sell about 80000 to 90000 liters per day, this is the first day since refurbishment, we started on the weekend so we might improve on that.”
