THE Central Province is set to have 16 new high schools.
That is according to the Assistant Education Manager, Central Province, Mr Kokoro Aga-Nigona.
Mr Nigona made the remarks in relation to the increase in student numbers due to the introduction of the National Government’s free education policy (Tuition Free Fee/ TFF) and in line with government education plans.
He urged that it was vital primary feeder schools were up to par in order for the plan to succeed, making the announcement during the opening of the Gomore Primary School fencing project at Gomore Village in Rigo last week.
“There is already a submission before the Provincial executive council for 16 new high schools to be established,” Nigona said.
“There is going to be one in the Sinaugoro area and Daumagini (Primary at Saroa Village) has been marked for the preparation.”
“For that high school to be a dream come through we need to have our feeder Primary Schools functioning.”
He said that the new high schools will cater for the 266 Structure (two years of elementary, six years of primary system and six years of lower and upper high school.) to come on board starting next year.
“So I want to challenge the elites of the Sinaugoro (language speaking villages) area to join me in realizing that day high school for the Sinaugoro communities.”
