With less than 20 days till the opening ceremony for the 2015 Pacific Games, the organizers are still tight-lipped on the composition and the expectation of the opening to what is touted to one of the best games ever for the region.

The Opening Ceremony is being put together by the Makoda team who have been tasked with giving the games one of its most memorable opening ceremony.

When asked by the Sunday Chronicle Weekly Magazine on what the country and visitors can expect, they said specifics were a no no for the showpiece keeping to general information without giving too much away.

“We can’t say too much because we don’t want to spoil the surprise, but we can say that it will certainly showcase the nation’s rich cultural diversity,” they stated.

When referring to rumours floating about of a big name act to perform- the team maintained that the opening show was not about a single name, but hailed the total 7,000 individuals taking part in the opening as the real stars. Adding also that the country’s rich diverse culture will be on full display come opening day.

They confirmed that the official Games Song is “We are the Heroes”, to be performed by Honlly Isaac, as opposed to other songs being recorded under titles as Pacific Games songs by various other artists.

“The official pacific games song is called “we are heroes” a song released by the pacific games, written & performed by Honlly Isaac,” they said.

“There is a different song for Team PNG, which I believe has been written and performed by Jaggarizzar.”

Good news though for the real crowd pleasing event being the fireworks show, with Makoda saying that there will definitely be one- something we anticipate would be the icing on the cake of what is building up to be the pinnacle to set the tone for the rest of the event.

A total of eight schools in the nation’s capital are taking part in the opening ceremony.
