DIGICEL CEO, John Mangos and Representatives explained that the double strip was put in place to address the issue of customers constantly calling in when they have accidently scratched off number from their flex cards.

Many Digicel prepay customers have been confused about the double strip on the flex cards displaying same voucher number credit top-up, associating it with the winning of credits- that is normally associated with double strips.

“The biggest complaint we receive is where people end up scratching their flex card numbers off,” Mr Mangos said.

They said that the two strips gives the customer the opportunity to have another chance to punch their credits, rather than having to go through the frustrating process of having to call customer service to validate their claims of accidently scratching out numbers.
