PNG’S largest online shopping network, Fortunaonline, ran a three day product expo in Port Moresby at the Laguna Hotel this week from Tuesday to Thursday.

Fortuna Project Manager, Bhavick Kapadia, said that the exhibition was an opportunity for everyone, especially those in Port Moresby to see and sample what Vitis Industries and Fortuna online had in store for them.

“What we want to do is showcase all these items show the people what we are all about, that we are very real, we want to showcase the big product range that we have as promised,” Kapadia said.

“We are PNG’s largest online shopping network and we have brought in 1000s of products we are importing ourselves.”

“We take this opportunity to create a platform, giving them the opportunity not only to see them but taste and get a firsthand experience what we are about.”

Products were sold at very low factory prices with items ranging from beverages, motoring, fashion, and products from local distributors.

He said with the online shopping platform in existence for six months the response from the public has been incredible.

“People have been signing up with us every day. We have more than 10,000 people signed up with us already,” he said.

“This is increasing everyday with new orders coming in people have realized that we have brought something really good for them, not only in Port Moresby but Lae and soon maybe I think definitely by next year we are looking at servicing the whole of PNG.”

Kapadia added that with the conclusion of the inaugural expo, they were looking at hosting another in the new year in Lae city.

“Fortuna is a platform for everyone- they can come and join us- we are already encouraging people (local manufacturers) to come and join us as long as their products are good.”

“The exhibition is not limited to us doing it once, it must be done every time we can as an ongoing recurring thing. We will also do something in Lae as well next year.”
