Foundation receives first donation

EDA Ranu Foundation has received its first ever donation to assist impacted communities of Koiari and Motu Koita, in and around Port Moresby, last week with a cheque presentation of K30,000 courtesy of KPT Limited.

KPT (Korea Papua Trade), with its long association with Eda Ranu has earmarked its donation towards children with disabilities from the impacted areas.

Receiving the donation on behalf of Eda Ranu and the foundation, Board Chairlady Mary Karo, thanked the Chairman of KPT Michael Shim for their donation- highlighting the strong relation the company had with the water provider.

“On behalf of board of directors and the management of Eda Ranu, as well as the Eda Ranu Foundation- we also have the General Manager of the foundation who is also a director on our board- I would like to say thank you.”

“This company is not new to Eda Ranu, we’ve been interacting when the company was Automart- it co-sponsored golf alongside Eda Ranu and we go a long way on the sporting field and in the business arena.”

“He has pledge a contribution to the Eda Ranu Foundation, and the interesting thing was that he specifically mentioned where that funding will go to, which was to the disable children in Koiari and Motu Koitabuans.” 

While handing over his contribution, Mr Shim reaffirmed his company’s commitment in giving back to the community.

“I am always supportive of Ea Ranu, because it is our water, and I want clean water for our people in Port Moresby,” he said.

“This is my second country and I am happy to be here, and while I am making money here- I am putting

“This year I am happy to donate K30,000 for the mentioned groups, and will continue next year with another donation.”

The foundation was established  late last year to working closely with donor agencies, local level governments, faith-based organizations, churches, and business houses- aiming to improve the lives of resource owners  by addressing areas in education, training, sports, infrastructure development and others deemed appropriate by the foundation.
