YET another hip gyrating superstar took the Cosmopolitan by storm last week, both surprising and exciting all who attended, when he and his band grooved to the Gulf Province’s own Hollie Maea track “Askere Kerekofa”.

The Hollie Maea hit took centre stage at the beginning of the performance with the Jamaican maestro pointing out to the crowd to be passionate about local music.

Fans who attended were not disappointed as Shaggy and his band entertained the crowd to a bunch of his top tracks beyond the one hour time period.

It was another successful show organised by the Cosmopolitan Nigh Club in partnership with Sapience Entertainment

During the star’s press conference held earlier at the Grand Papua Hotel, he spoke of uncertainty of what to expect from his fans- emphasising his main goal was to give them somewhere to run away from their problems.

“It is my first act here so I’m trying to figure out what to expect, but my message is a message of music, love, and fun- my thing is about living life,” he said.

“Whatever problems you have in your life, if you can come to our concert for an hour or two and forget it within that time, than I have done my job.”

“Life has too many complications as it is and I try not to live in a complicated world, and have as much fun as possible through music.”

“A friend of mine Maxi Priest came here, and from that moment on he kept telling me that you need to go to Papua New Guinea.”

And have fun he did as he worked the crowd with hits like “Strength of a Woman”, “It Wasn’t Me”,
“Mr Boombastic”, “Summertime”, and many more.

At the end of his performance, he concluded that it wasn’t the first nor the last time he would come to the country.
