Moresby NW schools get personalized books

LEARNING for 18 schools in the Moresby North West electorate in the National Capital District have been boosted with the presentation of 90,000, 48 pages personalized exercise books for students courtesy of the local member and Minister for Health Michael Malabag, last week.

In a presentation conducted at the Carr Memorial Adventist Primary School, headmasters of each of the 18 schools witnessed the presentations of the book supplies, custom-printed with their respective school logos and other particulars.

Present to present the books on behalf of the Member, First Secretary Guba Daera, said that each school would receive 25 cartons (5,000 each) of books under the program- adding that other schools that missed out would be included in next years program.

The exercise book printed by local stationary supplier GT Agency, were delivered to other primary schools apart from Carr Memorial include Waigani, St Paul’s, Philip Aravure, Gerehu, Baruni, Tatana, Hagara, St Michaels, Ted Diro, Sacred Heart, Eki Vaki, Hohola, Tokarara, Ororo, June Valley, Boreboa, and Morata.

Carr Memorial Headmistress Nida Bland conveyed her word of thanks to the Member on behalf of the other schools for the assistance.

“On behalf of all 18 schools I would like to thank our Member Michael Malabag for this timely assistance,” Bland said.

“This project is now going to be in all district schools, and every student will have the heart of our local MP with them.”


Daera thanked the member of the Joint District Planning Board for approval of the venture to enable effective learning for students in the districts schools, putting the total cost for the program at close to K600,000.
