The Keynote 10th YumiFM Music Awards lived
up to expectation yesterday when the artists took the Lamana Gold Club by storm
with the Jokema Band taking the most number of the honors than the others in a
star studded display of local talent.
Taking out Charting Consistency of the
Year, Longest Charting Song of the Year with their song "O Mam", and
Group of the Year- the group’s consistency was testament to their quality of
music.
Other consistent performers included the
Panakatsu Studios, who are responsible for top performing groups that include
Jokema, and Tati, taking out the Studio of the year award.
Rookie of the year went to Tati, South
Pacific Artist of the Year going to Solomons sensational group Dezine, lone
female nominee Meriani Masani took the female artist award.
Experienced hand Armstrong Gomara
(Dadiigii) took the Male Artist for hit song "Sori Promise"- top
honors of album of the year going to Tatti again rounding of his stellar entrance onto the PNG music scene.
Veteran PNG artist Demas Saul inked his
name in the awards history books by being named in the awards hall of fame category.
With a packed venue filled to capacity with
hungry music lovers, who danced the night away.
YumiFM had done it again thanks to Keynote
Music House, Melanesian Travel Consultant, Lamana Gold Club, Nescafe, Total
Event Company, sister stations NauFM and LegendFM who helped support the
successful staging of the event.
