SOUTH Pacific Brewery has joined the bandwagon of
support going to the victims of Cyclone Ita that swept through Milne Bay’s
islands region last month, with K15,000.
Managing Director for SP Stan Joyce said that they
were aware of the effects of what had occurred in Milne Bay and were willing to
help with their contribution as a responsible corporate citizen.
“SP has a long history of coming to the assistance of
provinces, and our role is to assist in any way we can,” Joyce said.
“We sat down with the board and they decided that we
should assist you with K15,000, the same amount we gave to those affected in
Oro Province by Cyclone Guba.”
There to receive the check on behalf of his people,
Milne Bay Governor Titus Philemon thanked SP Brewery for their support and
assured them that the funds would go direct to the affected region through the
provincial admiration down to the provincial disaster team on the ground.
