WITH the
first State of Origin match already gone to the Blue corner, an eager blues fan
and Bmobile prepaid subscriber Rodney Rumints topped off the win to become the
first lucky recipient of a Star Vision home entertainment system in the mobile
service provider’s State of Origin Competition.
It is an
initiative of Bmobile to reward three customers with three brand new
entertainment systems, each consisting of a 32 inch screen, DVD player, and a
speaker set, during the much loved State of Origin 2014 series.
Rodney, who
resides just outside of Port Moresby near the Pacific Adventist University
entered the competition via text and received the winning call telling him that
he had won.
“I’ve been
a long time Bmobile user since 2005, and this is my first time to win something
after I sent four texts with two each supporting either team,” said the happy
Rumints.
“I am still
with Bmobile because there rates are cheap, despite the limitations in coverage
to call my home village.”
He said
that he was very happy to win the prize and thanked Bmobile for initiating the
competition.
Bmobile
Group CEO Sundar Ramamurthy congratulated Rodney on being the first winner for
the three game series, reminding him that they appreciated his loyalty and
support.
“I want to
congratulate you for entering four times for the competition to win the prize,”
Ramamurthy said.
“Through
people like yourself in participation that we can afford to do this, it shows
us that you believe in us.”
He said
that it was the first time they have run a competition during the State of
Origin series.
“The Idea
behind competition is to generate user interest and try to get people to
participate using the Bmobiles.”
“And
response for us was a lot bigger than we anticipated- which goes in line with
the fact that we have been fixing the network for the last seven months.”
“In terms
of going forward we want to enhance our coverage in terms of Port Moresby to
Lae to Hagan has been our core focus that is completed.”
“We will
then be focussing on the other towns as well as our remote sites to increase
the quality of our coverage and pricing.”
He added
that the aim was to get more Papua New Guineans believing in Bmobile promised
bigger and better competitions as their customer base grows.
“We will
get more customers, which in turn enable them to get more of our promotion
activities like this- they all work in synchronisation.”
Two more
lucky Bmobile customers are in the running to win the two remaining
entertainment systems for games two and three, with plans to even fly lucky
winner to games in the series in the future.
